Our network

Through our hub and home in Iceland, we connect our clients to various locations within Iceland, Europe, and North America. Thanks to our extensive global partnerships, we also offer swift continued cargo flights to more distant markets, including Asia.

Icelandair Cargo

Icelandair Cargo

Air cargo has played an ever-increasing role in the Icelandic aviation industry since overseas flights from Iceland began. Before Icelandair, Loftleiðir and Flugfélag Íslands carried cargo on their commercial flights. After establishing Icelandair in 1973, a special cargo department was founded to lead cargo operations.

Growing in scope every year, cargo transportation became an integral part of the company's operation. In addition to offering belly space on Icelandair's passenger flights, a freighter operation was established and operated on both sides of the Atlantic and on a charter flight basis.

Environmental policy

Environmental policy

As a leading cargo carrier in the North Atlantic region, we take our responsibility concerning the environment seriously.

In close partnership with our customers, we are constantly working on carbon offsetting our projects and continuously moving towards minimizing our carbon footprint in our fleet strategy and all operational aspects.

Icelandair Group has an ambitious environmental policy, aiming at a 50% decrease in net emissions and carbon neutrality by 2030, with net-zero neutrality by 2050.

Fleet information

Icelandair Cargo operates a Boeing 767 freighter and utilizes the lower deck cargo spaces of Icelandair's passenger planes. This setup allows us to provide a range of freight services and take on diverse projects, connecting Europe and North America via our hub at Keflavik airport, and also handling cargo within Iceland.

We extend our reach globally through collaborations with other airlines, experienced agents, and trucking companies, creating a broad network.
